Spring Turnout

Replacement Female Sale

On Saturday, April 16th, friends, family and neighbors gathered at the Hope Livestock Facility to trade cattle!! A “standing room only” crowd sifted through over 400 head of high quality “southern” females.

A large offering of young pairs with various breed types were sold to multiple purchasers. Volume pair buyer of the day was Trey Maxwell and family from Sarepta, Louisiana. Mark Sorrells of Sparkman, Arkansas ran a close second on volume and also procured the high sellers from BK Cattle of Nashville, Arkansas.

Bred females ranged in price from $1275 to $2075, with a multitude of takers. Spring Calvers were in good demand but the fancy, fall calving F-1s stole the show.

The excitement continued as the open heifers busted into the ring. True F-1s were also the favorite in this category only to be outdone by a single draft of 4 Purebred Brahman heifers consigned by Yates Ranch in Texas and sold to Blake Hill of the Hope area.

The bull offering from Seedstock Plus ended the day on a high note. Eight head of Angus, Balancer, and Gelbvieh bulls were scattered among seven determined buyers.

Thanks to all who participated on both sides of the gavel and a special thanks to the staff and crew of LBJ Cattle Marketing.
